Far from Home is a photographic project that explores belonging and the role of women in shaping my identity. After moving from Mexico to the United States, I began photographing female friends who became a new sense of family, while honoring the women back home who continue to influence me.

Within this project, I also return to Mexico to photograph my grandmother and the women I grew up with, approaching them through a process of deconstructing how the female figure is traditionally represented. By rethinking my own gaze, the work seeks to move beyond the male gaze and create more intentional, intimate portrayals.
